FIRE destroyed two cars and caused considerable damage to the garage of a Beaconsfield home on Saturday (13 March).
Beaconsfield fire brigade was called to the home on Timberside Drive, Beaconsfield, just after 4pm.
Incident Controller Second Lieutenant Marc Graham said on arrival they found two cars on fire in the garage.
Five CFA units from Beaconsfield, Berwick and Officer attended the scene and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.
The fire was contained to the garage but significant smoke damaged was caused to the house.
The CFA was called to the house by the owner who noticed the smoke and flames coming from one of the vehicles when he arrived home.
He immediately evacuated his three children from the home.
Pakenham Senior Sergeant Alan McCarthy said the fire was not thought to be suspicious.
Cardinia Shire Council and the Red Cross are assisting the family.
The CFA said this was the second house fire in Beaconsfield in the past two weeks. A two-storey house was destroyed by fire in Anne Street on Friday 5 March.
