Sands of Gallipoli

IN THE lead-up to this year’s Anzac Day commemorations the Pakenham-Berwick Gazette is running a competition for budding photographers to capture the spirit of Anzac with their camera.
Can you take or have you taken a photograph that captures the Anzac spirit of courage, comradeship or sacrifice?
If you can then send it to us, along with a short caption explaining your subject, and you’ll be in the running to win a fantastic Sands of Gallipoli limited edition commemorative set valued at $195.
It’s all part of keeping our community links to the Anzac spirit alive and well.
We will publish selected photographs and the winner will be announced shortly after Anzac Day.
The limited edition prize set is part of the 2009 Sands of Gallipoli range of collector’s items which feature small vials of sand collected from the landing beaches at Gallipoli.
The first Sands of Gallipoli collection was released in 2004 and has since grown to become a national icon, helping people celebrate and remember the Anzac spirit.
This year the annual Sands of Gallipoli commemorative campaign looks at the service medals earned on the Gallipoli battlefields.
Through Prominent Medals of Gallipoli eight of the military medals and ribbons, as awarded to individual Anzacs for conspicuous bravery, have been reproduced.
The Sands of Gallipoli commemorative products are available from participating Australia Post outlets or online at www.sandsofgallipoli.com.au
