Casey Fields extension unveiled

THE Casey Scorpions and Melbourne football clubs unveiled the $2.1 million extension to their Casey Field headquarters on Saturday night.
The plush new facility, funded by the City of Casey, AFL Victoria, Melbourne Football Club and the State Government, includes a new administration area, gymnasium, recovery room and refrigerated baths.
The extension, to be used by both Scorpions and Demons players and staff, was opened at a dinner function before Casey’s round one VFL clash with Geelong.
MFC chief executive Cameron Schwab, football manager Chris Connelly and senior coach Dean Bailey were all in attendance.
Scorpions president John Sharkie said the state-of-the-art facility would allow the aligned clubs to work more closely together, particularly in their bid to build their profile in the local community.
“We are becoming of a single mind and a single purpose,” Sharkie told guests on Saturday night.
