Joeys take the jump

JOEYS from Pakenham,
Berwick and Hampton Park had
a great time on their first ‘scouts’
camp on the weekend.
More than 440 joeys and 330
leaders attended their first Vic
torian Kangaree at Gilwell Park.
They enjoyed circus themed
activities including sleeping in
very big marquees that looked
like circus tents, and there were
also clowns and games.
Activities included bubble
blowing, craft, games, a magi
cian, storytelling and a snake
handler brought slithery rep
tiles for everyone to pat.
On Sunday, even though it
was very cold and wet, the joeys
still had a great deal of fun doing
a session called Try Cubbing
which is aimed at those who are
almost ready to go up to Cub
Scouts.
