Back on track

GEMBROOK’S Animals on the Move are back on track after a collision in Rowville earlier this month.
Business owner Leonie Woodham said she and Brandy the cow were travelling to a job in Mount Waverley when the collision occurred on Wellington Road.
“The impact pushed the float (with Brandy inside) into the car sideways, which left her stuck in there for over an hour,” Ms Woodham said.
“It took about 20 minutes for the vet to get there, and once we gave Brandy the sedative the Rowville CFA was able to start work with the jaws of life.”
Luckily for Brandy, she walked away with only swollen bits on her back and a couple of cuts to her legs – nothing like what it could have been.
But she was back at work within two days after she was given the go ahead from the vet.
“The first day back was a long one, a TV thing and by the end of the day she just wanted to lay down,” Ms Woodham said.
“After that she felt much better.”
Both the car and float were written off in the crash, Ms Woodham said, adding that she had already replaced the car, but was still working on replacing the float.
“A specific type of float is needed for a cow,” she said.
“So we’ll spend a bit of time making sure that we have the right one – we can’t cart around a movie star in any old thing.”
