Written concern

CARDINIA Shire will write to the Municipal Association Victoria and the State Government to express concern towards the present exemption to Planning Permit requirements for developments occurring on land zoned Public Use.
Councillor Ed Chatwin raised a motion for councillors to send a letter to the Planning Minister and the minister responsible for the Emerald Tourist Railway Act 1977 about the potential for inappropriate developments occurring on Puffing Billy land which may not be in the best interests of the community.
The letter will suggest to the ministers that these exemptions not be used to allow developments without consultation that are not the primary function of the public authority or in the best interests of the community.
