A HEAVIER yarding for the Wednesday Fat Cattle Sale last week at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul, saw an increase in per head price across the board, although only bullocks recorded an increase in average.
Extra bullocks saw 63 head penned and rose six cents to 176.2 cents with a top of 185 cents and a low of 135.6 cents.
Seventy nine heifers eased two cents to 157.1 cents with the top also easier.
Heifers ranged from 130 cents to 178.2 cents.
One hundred and fifty two steers eased 2.5 cents to 172.7 cents, weight and condition was similar to last week and the range was 110.6 cents to 202.6 cents.
Five hundred and forty one vealers of heavier quality eased six cents to 174.9 cents but the per head price was $16 better. Heavy veal made from 84.2 cents to 231.6 cents and light veal 90 cents to 230 cents.
Twenty four bulls on Thursday also eased in price, slipping three cents to 147.8 cents. Light quality was the main factor. Bulls ranged from 112 cents to top 175 cents.
Twelve bullocks averaged 173.6 cents and ranged from 157.6 cents to 180.6 cents.
Six hundred and seven cows gained six cents to 132 cents, again condition was the selling point, with cows making from 80 cents to 177.2 cents.
