Minor changes at Baw Baw

WITH condition back slightly, Wednesday’s Fat Cattle Sale at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul saw minor changes in price as demand remains for all categories.
Feed lotters and restockers were very obvious during the sale and this kept prices on the move.
A good penning of 124 bullocks saw little change in value with the average two cents lighter at 174.4, bullocks reached 190.2 for the top price. Fifty nine heifers made no change averaging 156.5 and also reached into the 90s for the top, with vendors receiving up to 191.2.
One hundred and seventy three steers sold to easier prices averaging five cents less at 167. They also made a handy top of 190 cents.
Four hundred and sixty five veal rose four cents to 178.9, with the top making to 228.6.
Prices for the bull and cow sale on Thursday both dropped off, condition was not the factor as this week it was up with any recent sale and demand is still reported as high.
Twenty seven bulls eased two cents to 145.3 and made to 173.2 and 536 cows eased five cents to 127 to reach 162.2.
