GOOD rain and a lighter yarding made for a good sale on Wednesday at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul, with rises recorded across the yarding.
Although bullocks showed a lower average, weight was back and a similar price per head to last sale showed bullocks selling to a similar trend.
Seventy five bullocks were penned and sold to 180 cents to start at 145 cents and the average was 170.3 cents.
Seventy eight heifers lifted four cents to 160.2 cents to range from 127.6 cents to 173.2 cents.
One hundred and fifty steers rose 2.7 cents to 169.7 cents, a vast difference from top to bottom in quality saw the steers range from 120 cents to 191.2 cents.
Three hundred and forty three vealers remained steady with an average of 179.7 cents, heavy vealers made from 104.6 cents to 228 cents and light veal 131.2 cents to 208 cents.
Bulls and cows on Thursday gained back ground on last week.
Bull quality and weight was better, the top end of cows were also improved and a larger percentage of light quality cows held back the price rise.
Bulls rose eight cents to 153.8 cents and cows rose two cents to 128.8 cents.
