Business taps in to the work

A PAKENHAM business has seen the benefits of working closely with the Wonthaggi desalination plant, providing pipe and tank fittings as well as other irrigation products.
Reece Irrigation manager Dan Hyland said the local business was contacted by the desalination project to provide a service to them late last year.
He said that the Reece Irrigation Pakenham store, as well as plumbing centres in Leongatha, Wonthaggi and Narre Warren were able to use their strong links to provide products in the timeframe required by the massive project.
“A lot of farm and property owners affected by the project can’t afford to have services disconnected for too long during the works, so when construction requires a pipe or service to be relocated, we need to be able to provide product in a quick and reasonable timeframe,” Mr Hyland said.
Mr Hyland said he believed that the desalination project chose to work with Reece because of its service level and number of stores in the area.
“At Reece, we aim to provide a high level of customised customer service, its something we pride ourselves on,” he said.
“Not to mention the ability to help out the local community to ensure any disruptions are kept to a minimum.”
