DAVID Morison is over the moon with the finished product of The Club at Blue Hills Rise.
The $11 million facility at the Cranbourne retirement village was officially opened last Thursday, and the Blue Hills Rise manager said it provided residents with almost everything they needed.
The club, which is one acre in floor size, includes medical suits, a hairdresser, shops, cafes, a cinema, sports bar, social areas and a library.
“It’s everything in the one spot. You really don’t have to leave the place,” Mr Morison said.
Currently in stage three of the building process, Blue Hills Rise is being developed as a sister village for Blue Hills Residences, which is situated across the road.
More than 50 residents already live at Blue Hills Rise, and will eventually consist of 273 units and 16 apartments.
Mr Morison said Blue Hills Rise was built after the success of Blue Hills Residences and the strong demand for retirement accommodation in Casey.
Those who have moved into the units and apartments have come from many areas including Pakenham, Berwick, Frankston and Langwarrin, Mr Morison said.
“It’s a huge move for them and you need to be there to give them a little bit of moral support when they arrive. For some it is their first move in many decades, and hopefully their last.”
Mr Morison said Blue Hills Rise is modern in design with many features and facilities that appealed to many of the 55 plus demographic.
“We aim to have the best and that’s what we believe we’ve got. It’s very social and there’s always lots of things on.”
