Expo is still going green

MORE than 600 people attended Cardinia Shire Council’s Pakenham Sustainability Expo held on 11–12 June at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Pakenham.
Almost 80 exhibitors were on show with a variety of options to help residents, business operators and schools exist more sustainably at a local level.
From energy saving ideas in house designs to the sustainable brewing of beer, there was something for everyone at the green expo.
Mayor Graeme Legge has hailed the expo a great success.
“There were a lot of amazing energy efficient and cost effective products and services at the expo,” councillor Legge said.
“It was pleasing to see so many residents taking a keen interest in sustainable alternatives for day-to-day things.”
For residents who are still interested in all things sustainable, the council, in partnership with the City of Casey, is once again holding Green Film nights.
Various documentaries and short films will be shown across both municipalities highlighting a variety of environmental issues.
