SES insurance

EVERY Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) unit across the state will receive new rescue equipment as part of AAMI’s annual sponsorship of the Victoria SES (VICSES).
Since 2003, AAMI has contributed more than $2 million in a program that allows the VICSES to buy rescue equipment, which is used to carry out the group’s invaluable work in serving the community.
Pakenham SES was one of VICSES’s 141 operational and 10 support units, which has received a pole saw, two Goliath light kites and an air chisel kit.
“The funding allows the VICSES to buy essential rescue equipment used to carry out their often life saving work,” AAMIexecutive sponsorship manager John Bennetts said.
“We are pleased to continue to support the VICSES, and know the equipment will be a major boost to the Pakenham unit’s capacity to respond to emergencies.
Central region manager Ray Jasper said the program was an effective way for individual SES units to update some of the equipment and keep pace with technological advances to help them respond in emergency circumstances.
“Often it’s the little things such as having a reliable GPS unit or a fully-functioning ladder or pole saw, which can make a big difference to our ability to be fully effective,” he said.
“This program really demonstrates how the SES and AAMI work together for a safer community.”
