GOOD rises across the yarding on Wednesday at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul, saw the yard average rise seven cents to 185.
Four hundred and fifty quality head were penned and attracted strong attention.
Eighty eight bullocks rose four cents to 181.7 to range from 146 to 190.6. Fifty one heifers gained three cents to 165 and made from 115 to 175. Fifty seven steers of excellent quality rose three cents to 178.1 to range from 142 to 188 and 254 vealers lifted nine cents to 196.5, topping in the mid 230 cent range.
Heavy veal ranged from 124.2 to 235.6 and light veal 165 to 228.6. Twenty four lighter bulls were sold on Thursday and rose two cents to 148.2 on average, with the top end reaching 177.6. Three hundred and ninety one cows remained steady to average 135.1, out of the box cows made to 193.2 with the main field starting at a top of 179.2.
