Welcome for new driver

ONE of the first things the Berwick Senior Citizens Club has to report this week is the return to active service of the bus, complete with new driver named Murray.
Our regular driver, Murray Grad, is not yet up to the job of driving, but accompanied the other driver as an adviser until he is fully “operational”.
Our president, Isabella Price, was fully occupied with her doctor all day so she couldn’t attend, and her duties were covered by our past president, Lola Bird. The club welcomed the return of Murray Grad, and also June Murphy.
In hospital were Gladys Obeth and (we think) Alice Haynes.
During the meeting we had a flying visit from Ron Giles who announced that his wife, Vera, had just come out of hospital and that he was going home to care for her.
At the meeting, the door prizes went to Lorna Bird and Lucy Dickenson, the meat tray was won by Audrey Appleyard, and voucher went to Erica Albert.
A raffle was also held and the two prizes went to Monica Miller and Diane Kimmit.
At the Bingo session which followed, the prizes went to Aileen Sweet, Monica Miller, Beryl Newman, Isabel Jaeger-Glover, Elizabeth Sturgeon, Sheila Carter, Barbara Cunningham and Nora Todd (twice).
