Couple cope and then grow

By Melissa Meehan
HARD work and perseverance make all the difference.
Officer’s Jax Wax is the perfect example of big things coming from something small.
Starting off as a husband and wife project to provide wine sealing wax for one customer, the business has grown 20-fold and is now a leading depilatory wax manufacturer.
During the first four years of the business, Tina Copeland worked other jobs to put food on the table while her husband Geoff worked in the factory.
It was then they could afford for Tina to stay in the business. The husband and wife team would work in the factory, bag and pack their produce.
It was these things that allowed the company to grow.
Before long, Jax Wax was available in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
Their beaded wax, different to the slabs offered by their competitors, proved popular and the company now exports their products worldwide, including to Singapore and they have recently entered the US market.
Read all about Jax Wax and the steps taken to ensure growth and success in the Star News Group’s Business South East magazine.
