Landmark change

THOSE driving down Racecourse Road, Pakenham will notice a difference to one of Pakenham’s most well-known landmarks.
Signs on the former Nestle factory were changed to Gippsland Food Company last week.
In October last year, Simplot Australia announced it was to enter the Australasian ready meals market through a combined licence and acquisition arrangement with Nestlé Australia.
The Pakenham factory will become the cornerstone manufacturing facility for a meals centre of excellence, operating as Gippsland Food Company.
The agreement became effective on 30 November.
Gippsland Food Company will operate as a stand-alone business with the aim of becoming the leading supplier to the Australasian ready meals market.
