Terrific three-peat

BEACONSFIELD president Katrina O’Sullivan has dubbed her club a powerhouse after it won its third consecutive A-grade premiership with a 24-goal win over Pakenham in Saturday’s grand final at Edwin Flack Reserve.
The premiership is the Eagles sixth A-grade victory in eight years and O’Sullivan believes by making it three-in-a-row her club has stamped its dominant authority over rivals Pakenham and Berwick.
“The girls are outstanding, just amazing. They are the most talented girls in the league,’ O’Sullivan said.
“The three premierships in a row shows how much of a powerhouse we are,” O’Sullivan said.
O’Sullivan said a perfect blend of youth and experience was the reason behind her side’s consistency, as well as the drive pushing the club forward.
“We’re stronger and more talented,” O’Sullivan said.
“Winning the under-15s and under-17s just shows how well our younger girls are coming on the what the junior development program is doing,” O’Sullivan said.
O’Sullivan also credits her club’s dominating performances to the coaches and work ethic of her players.
“We have some extremely talented players who have taken on coaching roles.
“(A-grade coach) Shona Osborne is amazing.
“Her work effort and work rate and the amount of time she gives … no-one would have any idea how much she does.
“The girls are committed to doing their own fitness work.
“Outside of training sessions they keep improving and they keep exceeding what we expect of them,” O’Sullivan said.
The Eagles took out premierships in A-grade, under-17 and under-15 and came runners-up in C-grade.
