ALMOST $1.8 million funding has been announced for run-off-road crash treatments on Healesville-Kooweerup Road between Pakenham South and Kooweerup.
A $75 million funding boost from the State Government will improve safety on roads across Victoria with a history of run-off-road and intersection crashes.
Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas announced the funding boost on Monday and said it would deliver a range of safety benefits on stretches of road across the state.
“We understand people are concerned about road safety, which is why we’re building a better transport network providing important safety upgrades for local communities,” Mr Pallas said.
“Today’s funding boost will deliver improvements to a further 39 intersections and 27 lengths of road across the state that have a record of run-off-road crashes.
“Over the past five years, run-off-road crashes have accounted for 40 per cent of fatalities and 28 per cent of serious injuries on Victorian roads.”
