Party had by all

MORE than $2000 was raised and everyone loved the animal farm, but it was the party atmosphere that really made the Millhaven Pakenham Aged Care Family Day a success last Saturday.
The Princes Highway centre was bombarded with families, many of who had no relatives in the facility, but wanted to celebrate the event with residents and staff anyway.
Young and old enjoyed the face painting and the sausage sizzle, with the residents’ craft stall and art show being extremely popular.
But the facility’s manager, Linda Austin, said the real surprise was a performance by local singing sensations Peter and Robert.
“We had so many compliments about the music. They played what I guess you could call soft rock and everybody loved it.
“We even had children dancing to it,” she said.
“The residents absolutely loved it too. They said they wanted to have the duo perform at the centre every day.”
The $2000 collected by the centre came from gold coin donations, the residents’ craft and art sales, and from the sale of lucky dip and raffle tickets.
They intend to spend the money raised improving their facilities and treating their residents.
