Fire medal found

A MEDAL presented to a Cardinia Shire volunteer after the Black Saturday bushfires has been found in Lysterfield Lake Park.
Local volunteers were awarded the medals in a special ceremony, recognising their efforts last year.
Mayor Graeme Legge said the medal was found by one of his neighbours, who left it on his windowsill.
“He phoned and advised me that it was on my windowsill. It was very gracious and generous of him to go the trouble,” Cr Legge said.
The medal was found last week in its black pouch, which is still in perfect condition.
“I’d say someone has dropped it inadvertently and will be missing it.”
