TRAFFIC police have seen a marked improvement in safety on Healesville-Kooweerup Road since the road’s speed limit was reduced 12 months ago.
The road’s speed limit was lowered from 100km/h to 90km/h on 15 October 2009.
Cardinia Highway Patrol’s Sergeant Nigel Atkins said there had been no fatalities on the road since the speed reduction and car crashes causing serious injury had dropped by a third.
Sgt Atkins said police were extremely pleased with the outcome.
