Space for art at Casey

TWO new exhibitions are now on display at the City of Casey’s Civic Centre Art Space.
The exhibitions, ‘Reflections’ by Brenda Pettitt and ‘Creative Works of Kalimna’ by Kalimna Support Options will be on display until 28 January 2011.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said the Civic Centre Art Space offered residents a chance to look at a range of artworks by talented local and regional artists.
“The current exhibitions are so diverse, from mosaic artworks to photography, drawing and textiles,” Cr Balmes said.
“I really encourage the community to visit the Civic Centre Art Space to view these magnificent artworks.”
‘Reflections’ relates to the properties of glass, and includes a stunning collection of mosaic artworks. Brenda’s work features a kaleidoscope of colour, shimmering mirrors and jewel-like glass tiles.
Creative Works of Kalimna by Kalimna Support Options showcases a wide range of artworks, including photography, drawing and textiles.
Kalimna is a not-for-profit organisation that provides services to support adults with an intellectual disability both within the centre and the broader community by giving them pre-vocational training, education, recreation and leisure opportunities
The Civic Centre Art Space is located at the City of Casey Civic Centre, Magid Drive, Narre Warren. The centre is open on weekdays from 8am to 6pm.
Entry is free and many artworks are available to purchase.
