THE annual Christmas Carols by Candlelight is coming up.
Each year, the Pakenham Baptist Church gets together with Cardinia Shire Council and sponsors to put on a fireworks display, concert and show for residents.
Artists performing from the local area this year include Carol Williams, Ken Harris, Aidan Kyval, Rhonda Cawley-Boloski, and Genevieve Shallard.
Local primary schools will perform at the Carols by Candelight event on Sunday 11 December.
The Cardinia Civcic Concert Band will be conducted by Kim Thomsen.
“We would really like to see families come out this year and have a great time with us to celebrate Christmas,” Darryl Kilker from the Pakenham Baptist Church said.
The event is alcohol free and there’s no admission cost.
Families are encouraged to come along at 7pm to listen to the primary school students before the official opening at 8.30pm.
There will be a live nativity scene, fireworks and Santa is set to pop in for a visit.
“The mayor will officially open the carols this year,” Mr Kilker said.
This year, the Bendigo Bank in Lakeside Pakenham has sponsored the Christmas Carols by Candlelight event.
The long-running event is a Pakenham favourite.
“It’s about telling the Christmas story,” Sister Christine said.
The Pakenham Christmas Carols by Candlelight event is on at the Lakeside Pakenham amphitheatre.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic.
