Driver faces traffic charges

A BERWICK man has been arrested over a dangerous pursuit through Beaconsfield, Berwick and Narre Warren South.
Members from the Cardinia Highway Patrol attempted to intercept the gold Holden Statesman sedan on 12 December at about 11am.
A pursuit ensued and police chased the car through the Hillsmeade estate, but it was called off when the driver accelerated to 130km/hr.
A couple of minutes later, police spotted the car driving east on Golf Links Road but the pursuit had to be terminated because of the driver’s dangerous driving.
Police located the car in the Casey Central Shopping Centre and the 23-year-old Berwick driver is facing charges of conduct endangering life and numerous traffic offences.
A 20-year-old Narre Warren South man and a 16-year-old Berwick girl were interviewed by Casey CIU.
A 27-year-old Hampton Park man has been released pending summons.
