EMERGENCY authorities hoisted a 48-year-old man to safety after he fell from a ladder last week and twisted both of his ankles.
The man was working on a roof in Creekwood Avenue, Lakeside, on Thursday afternoon when Ambulance Victoria, the CFA and SES were called to the house about noon.
Paul Bentley, a spokesman for Ambulance Victoria, said the man was on the roof of the two-storey house when he climbed down the ladder, slipped and fell.
“He landed on a corrugated iron roof, twisted his ankles and suffered a fracture to one of his ankles,” he said.
“The man was treated by paramedics who made him more comfortable before he was able to be moved.”
It took rescuers more than an hour to lift him to safety.
“The CFA and SES helped remove him and he was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition,” Mr Bentley said.
