RISING Stars Football Academy Under-11 boys won the Football Federation Victoria (FFV) Boys FC held in Bendigo last month.
The boys were unbeaten throughout the tournament and won 5-1 against Glen Eira Junior FC in the finals.
The weekend tournament attracted some of the best football clubs from across Victoria, with over 600 boys competing in the various age divisions. Rising Stars, which is based in Berwick, is a specialist football and goalkeeping academy for young talented footballers. At the award ceremony, Football Federation Victoria (FFV) President Nick Monteleone congratulated Rising Stars coach Brian MacNicol on his boys’ superb performance over the entire weekend.
The academy also had an Under-10 team, of mainly eight-year-olds players, who also performed excellently across the weekend, despite playing against older boys in the category.
