Beaconhills College presents Dear Edwina Junior.

AN excited cast of Prep to Year 4 students from Beaconhills College, Berwick, is set to perform the Broadway musical Dear Edwina Junior on 17-18 October.
The 284 students have spent six months putting together the high-energy show, which has such a large cast that more than 300 costumes are needed.
Dear Edwina Junior follows the life of Edwina Spoonapple from Paw Paw, Michigan, and her cast of friends who put on fabulous shows in her backyard every Sunday.
Edwina’s one wish is to win a place in the coveted Advice-A Palooza Festival but eventually has to learn that certificates and trophies are not what life is all about.
Director Tiffany Farlow said making props and organising all the costumes had been a huge task for teachers.
She said the students had also thrown themselves into the production with great enthusiasm.
“The students have been extremely willing to try their hand at acting, dancing and singing – often all at the same time,” Ms Farlow said.
“It has been very rewarding to watch the students develop in confidence and gradually become more excited as the show draws closer.”
She said being involved in productions such as Dear Edwina gave children a chance to make new friends and discover hidden talents – all good for their self-esteem and confidence.
Dear Edwina Junior is at 6.30pm on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October at Beaconhills College in the Performing Arts Auditorium, 92 Kangan Drive, Berwick.
