ON-FIELD enemies will unite as one this Sunday as the cream of the WGCA cricketing crop comes together to slog it out in a Twenty-20 North versus South spectacular at Glover Reserve in Devon Meadows.
The likes of Pakenham, Emerald, Upper Beaconsfield and Clyde will combine for the ‘North’ to take on the might of the Kooweerup, Tooradin, Merinda Park and Cranbourne Meadows stars from the ‘South’.
The inaugural WGCA All-Stars T20 is set to ignite a fierce rivalry that will be a huge highlight of the local cricket fixture each season.
An under-21 match will kick off proceedings from around 11am.
It will be followed by the action-packed main event at 2pm.
Full bar and canteen facilities will be available, with a Kookaburra bat signed by Brad Haddin featuring in a raffle.
Plenty of other Kookaburra giveaways will also be on offer with live music playing throughout the day.
A percentage of all the proceeds raised on the day will go towards the (WGCA) Warriors’ 2013-14 Country Week campaign.
The event is a must for local fans, who are encouraged to come along in their club colours and support their home-town stars.
