Anatomy of hospital drama

Grey’s Anatomy, season 10
Thursdays 9.30pm
Channel 7
AFTER 10 seasons, most people would think all crazy and obscure medical emergencies would be covered.
But Grey’s Anatomy just keeps pulling them out – not to mention the personal dramas of the doctors.
From a personal perspective, Grey’s Anatomy is the great drama it has always been.
Grey’s Anatomy is not based on reality, it never has, and Season 10 is no different – there are plenty of ’aw’ moments, a few laughs, love affairs and, of course, lots of drama.
Four episodes in and we have already seen a severe storm, which took the life of a doctor, left another in critical condition and damaged the hospital.
What else can they do but throw a fundraiser gala – which results in a performer falling from a height and seriously injuring her leg – queue doctors performing surgeries while dressed in ball gowns.
This season has the addition of a new baby for Derek/McDreamy (Patrick Dempey) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) as they take time out as surgeons to be parents, and realise how much they love the drama of the hospital.
The season so far is also dealing with splitsville for series favourites Christina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin Kidd) and the loveable lesbian couple Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).
And don’t forget the interns who try to cross the line into fully fledged surgeons under the watchful eyes of the residents – you would think they would learn after 10 seasons.
So much drama!
