THE Emerald Primary Schools revitalisation is one step closer to completion with stage one now finished.
Gembrook MP Brad Battin visited the school yesterday (Tuesday) to get an update on its progress.
With stage one now complete, the school now has a new administration centre which includes reception, offices, sick bay and staff room.
Mr Battin said it was great to see part one of the renewal completed.
“It is great to see the first stage of this project delivered and in use,” Mr Battin said.
“Emerald Primary School staff, students and parents have been calling for improvements to their school for many years.
“This revitalisation will ensure that local students have access to state-of-the-art, modern facilities.”
Still to be completed include works on the library, art and science rooms and classrooms, multipurpose room and a sports hall.
Principal Mark Carver praised the renewals and welcomed the improvements.
“This will bring the whole school up to a modern standard compatible with 21st century teaching and the entire school community will benefit greatly,” Mr Carver said.
Last year the Victorian government delivered $51.5 million to repair, rebuild or remove almost 570 buildings at 250 schools following a state-wide condition audit of every government school.
