Top badge for Joey Elise

PAKENHAM Joey Scouts have handed out a prestigious badge for just the sixth time in the club’s history.
Eight-year-old Elise Baird received the Scout Promise Challenge Award, the highest award in the Joey Scout Award Scheme.
To achieve the award, she had to discover some facts on Scouts founder Baden Powell, help others every day for a week, then sing Christmas songs to residents at the Blue Hills Nursing Home in Cranbourne.
“I feel special that not many Joey Scouts get this award and I did,” she said.
“It was hard to get up and sing at the nursing home, but was very happy I did it.
“I have been a Joey Scout since I was six and I want to get my Grey Wolf in Cubs next.
Pakenham Joey Scouts are for boys and girls aged six to seven and a half where Scouts learn about themselves, nature and the world around them.
Joey Scouts graduate to the cub section around their eighth birthday.
