Young players lead the field home

DROUIN GOLF

SAM Clebney destroyed the field on Saturday to take out the Monthly Medal and win C Grade.
Clebney’s 62 equalled Lachie Bambridge for the best return for the year. The younger players of the club are clearly setting the pace… can the mature players respond?
Jason Stirzaker won A Grade with 68 while Rob Woodward took control in B Grade with 67. On any other Medal Day either of these players could have been expected to win.
Balls down the line went to; Adrian Schmidt 68, Barry Cunningham 68, Mark Sullivan 69, Phil Adams 70, Tom Carroll 70, Shane Dwyer 71, Dean Robbins 71, Greg Street 71. Nearest the pins were; Shane Dwyer 5th, Ryan Hammond 8th, Andy Denton 10th, and Pat McMillan 14th and pro pin.
On Wednesday it seemed that one needed their first and last name to begin with the same initial in order to win. Leigh Lambert led the way in A Grade with a fine 42. Barry Beechey prevailed in B Grade with 36, while Peter Phillips can now enjoy his five week Mediterranean cruise after winning C Grade with 38.
Balls down the line went to; Colin Zeno 37, David Ferguson 37, Ray Crook 36, Mike Mareska 36, Richie Thomas 36, Robert Logan 36, Ray Mooney 36.
This Saturday is stableford for men and women.
