RAHART Sadiqzai may be taking the entertainment industry by storm, but the Berwick actor’s feet are planted firmly on the ground.
Over the weekend, Rahart hosted the Nickelodeon ‘Slimefest’ event, an annual festival featuring several high-profile performances and the crowd being covered in green slime.
Held in Sydney on Friday 25 September and Melbourne on Sunday 27 September, this year’s show featured artists such as Boyce Avenue, The Veronicas, Samantha Jade and Timmy Trumpet.
Rahart, who is known as Rahart Adams to his thousands of fans worldwide, said he was excited at the opportunity to host such a major event.
“I’ve been on Nickelodeon for a while now, been a lead on Every Witch Way, and got approached by them to see if I would host,” he said.
“Of course I said I would love to!”
Hosting in front of a full house at Melbourne State Netball and Hockey Centre, Rahart found the atmosphere at both shows to be electrifying.
“I don’t get nervous very often but I was really feeling it right before I walked out on stage,” he said.
“The crowd was so receptive – to be out in front of thousands of people was just awesome.”
The 19-year-old star now spends much of his time overseas, but said it was a thrill to perform in front of a home crowd – including his family.
“I did a little speech during the show and thanked my entire family. It was amazing to have them there.”
He says there’s lots left to acheive, including getting another lead role in a TV series and film, exploring all types of entertainment and mastering his craft.
But for now, he’s enjoying some well-deserved downtime with those closest to him.
“I really enjoy driving, me and my mates go for a cruise up into the Harkaway Hills.
“It’s great to be spending time with family and friends. I love being home.”
His new movie, Liar Liar Vampire, airs on 12 October on Nickelodeon.
