Beacons of health celebrate

Mayor Brett Owen, Little Beacons children and educator Jennifer Blanch.

LITTLE Beacons Learning Centre has just ticked off two more benchmarks of the State Government’s Healthy Together Achievement Program.
The centre is now one of only two early childhood services in the Cardinia, Casey and Great Dandenong region to receive the ‘healthy eating and oral health’ and ‘physical activity’ awards. The awards add to the existing ‘sun protection’ benchmark already achieved in May this year.
Newly elected Cardinia Shire Mayor Brett Owen was at the Pakenham centre on Friday to present the awards and meet some of the Little Beacons children.
The program has six benchmarks which services can attain as part of an overall aim of promoting healthy lifestyles and improving places where people live, learn, work and play.
The Healthy Together Achievement Program is delivered locally in partnership with Monash and is part of Healthy Together Cardinia Shire.
