A man was cut from his vehicle after two cars collided on Ballarto Road, near Cardinia Road on Monday 20 March.
A 22-year-old man had to be cut from the wreck of his car when it became trapped between an embankment and a fence about 150 meters west of Cardinia Road about 8am. He sustained possible fractures and was taken to hospital.
A 60-year-old man in the other vehicle sustained only minor injuries, and was also taken to hospital for observation.
CFA crews from Nar Nar Goon, Clyde, Tooradin and Pakenham attended.
CFA Senior Station Officer Scott Shenfield said: “It was a difficult rescue due to the location of the vehicle down in the drain,” Mr Shenfield said.
Ballarto Road was closed in both directions for two hours and traffic was diverted along Cardinia Road and Pound Road.
“The road was closed for our safety and to allow emergency services to what they needed to do,” Mr Shenfield said.
Both cars are expected to be written-off. Police investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
