The month may have already begun, but it’s not too late to join the Premier’s Active April challenge.
Cardinia residents of all ages and fitness abilities are challenged to improve their heath and commit to 30 minutes of physical activity a day in April.
The challenge officially kicks off on Saturday 8 April, and participants can join as an individual or team.
Member for Eastern Victoria Region Daniel Mulino said getting involved in Active April could be as simple as taking a regular walk, riding to school or work, exercising during your lunch break, getting out in the garden or joining your local sports club.
“Active April is a fun and free way to get more active and healthy, and there are some great special offers and prizes along the way,” Mr Mulino said.
“It’s amazing how exercise can turn things around for people – Active April is a great place to start.”
“I urge everyone in Cardinia to get involved. Sign up today, join in the fun and have a go.”
Cardinia Shire Council has also joined the challenge and will co-ordinate a range of local events and activities to assist residents in doing their 30 minutes of physical activity while having fun.
