The Narre Warren North Red Cross is looking to welcome energetic new volunteers with fresh ideas.
The small branch of nine dedicate women is currently focused on the Red Cross’s annual March Red Cross Calling fundraising drive, but it would like to expand its work to address the needs of local people.
The branch was founded in response to the outbreak of World War II and it has a long and proud history of service.
Over the years, fundraising has been at the core of members’ activities.
Jumpers and pyjamas have been knitted and sewn, dances and bazaars have been held, hampers have been assembled and medical equipment has been collected to help needy and ill members of the community, as well as people overseas.
Anyone who is interested in joining the Narre Warren North Red Cross is invited to attend its next meeting on Thursday 1 June at the Girl Guide Hall, Memorial Drive, Narre Warren North, from 1pm.
