It’s on for young and old

The Old Cheese Factory, Berwick will host the Devil Goat Family String Band. 157047

The Old Cheese Factory’s latest performers are sure to delight music lovers young and old.
The Devil Goat Family String Band is a five-piece band which plays high-energy bluegrass and fiddle tunes like they’ve never gone out of style.
Its contemporary arrangements of traditional tunes utilise the twin fiddles of Kate Conner and Sophia Dunn, the banjo of Gus Macmillan, the guitar of Luke Byrnes and double bass of Fran Evans.
The group traverse the old-timey and new-grass traditions, and generate a live energy that is truly infectious to music-lovers of all generations.
First formed in 2005, this most recent line-up builds on the success and recognition they developed in the noughties, when they released their highly acclaimed CD Fate of a Bachelor.
The band has become favourites at festivals such as Queensland’s Woodford Folk Festival, Victoria Night Markets 2016, Moomba 2017, and featured on ABC and PBS Radio as well as performing everywhere from pubs, to parties, corporate events, house concerts, weddings, bush dances, school fetes and bingo nights.
The Devil Goat Family String Band will take to the stage at the Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick on 20 October. Doors open at 7pm.
