Local cafes are joining the fight against family violence by replacing their ordinary takeaway coffee cups with recyclable coffee cups that have been designed by children with images displaying their views of gender equality.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism to prevent violence against women, community members are encouraged to purchase their coffees from Degani Bakery Cafe in Kooweerup, On Track Cafe Pakenham, Vista Cafe Lakeside and the Cardinia Life Cafe to score a colourful cup.
To take it one step further, the Cardinia Family Violence Network is calling for people to take a ‘selfie’ with the cups and post it on social media, using the hashtags: #16Days #GenderEquality and #TogetherWeCan to get the word out.
