All out for festive night

A large crowd turned out to Kooweerup's first outdoor carols with fireworks.

The tunes of Christmas classics rang out across Kooweerup on Saturday 9 December as the town hosted its first outdoor carols, complete with fireworks.
An estimated 1200 spectators turned out to kick off the festive season while numerous community groups got involved in the night’s activities.
Melbourne radio personality Brendan McGreal was MC and a full orchestra was provided by Kooweerup Secondary College.
Local students and seasoned performers took to the stage, belting out all the Christmas classics as well as some modern favourites while the jolly man in red himself made a guest appearance, and certainly arrived in style.
Santa arrived on a fire truck with members of the local fire brigade – but after being there for just 10 minutes the brigade was rushed off to reports of a fire.
The night concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
An event spokesperson said the night was a great success.
“All in all it was a fantastic effort and we can’t wait till next year,” the spokesperson said.
