The newly formed Cora Lynn Show Jump Club held its first competition at its new home on the weekend and it was a resounding success.
The show provided classes for riders of all standards with classes from 50cm to 1.25m and was extremely well supported.
Club secretary Michelle Cochrane said the club was only able to do this thanks to the amazing generosity of the Cora Lynn Recreation Reserve, Cardinia Shire Council and the Cora Lynn Cobras football club.
“Our biggest aim is to make show jumping accessible for everyone,” Ms Cochrane said.
“We are so lucky to have the wonderful opportunity to use the rec reserve as our home ground.
“The support we have received from the community has been incredible. The Cora Lynn Recreation Reserve has made this all possible.”
The club aims to run two shows a year and a series of training days and clinics throughout the winter.
Among the planned improvements at the ground is a 75 metre by 95 metre purpose-built grass arena and the erection of 40 yards.
Committee members have worked hard to gain sponsorship and support from local businesses and are very grateful to RE Downes P/L Transport and Charlie’s Stockfeed among others for their generosity.
