Three…free ways to get fit

1. Pakenham parkrun. Pakenham parkrun is a 5km run held every Saturday at Toomuc Reserve from 8am. The volunteer-run event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Everyone runs for their own enjoyment – it’s not a race! Participation is free but runners need to register before their first run and bring a printed copy of their barcode to receive their time. 2. Local walking and bike tracks. Cardinia Shire Council is full of scenic walking and bike tracks just waiting to be explored including Mt Cannibal, Emerald Lake Park, Lakeside Lake and Bunyip Sanctuary. Not sure where to go? Work your way through this list:
3. Outdoor fitness equipment. Cardinia Shire Council provides free to use outdoor exercise equipment at a number of its local parks and reserves. One of those places, Emerald Lake Park offers fitness opportunities for the whole family. Children will love running around the playground, the park has activities suitable for teenagers and adults can use the outdoor gym with eight workstations.
