Body of Pakenham-based man found

The body of a man who went missing at MacKenzie Falls on Saturday 20 January has been found.
“The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a 28-year-old man currently staying in Pakenham”, Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
Police say witnesses reported seeing the man go below the water at about 5pm on Saturday 20 January.
The spokeswoman said Wimmera police and State Emergency Service members were unable to locate the man on Saturday, and resumed the search on Sunday morning.
The man’s body was then found about 9.30am on Sunday 21 January at the falls at Zumsteins, in the Grampians National Park.
Police are now preparing a report for the coroner.
Parks Victoria’s website warns tourists to take care at MacKenzie Falls, which is the most-visited waterfall in the Grampians.
Swimming is prohibited at the base of the falls.
