After splitting the opening two games of their Division 2 Country Week campaign, the West Gippsland Warriors are today at Greenvale taking on Sunraysia.
Batting first, after an early stumble, the Warriors are 5/97 from 24 overs with Rob Elston (44) and Josh Lownds at the crease.

12:00 – That’s a superb half-century from Elston, who arrived at the crease with three for not many. He’s currently on 50* with Lownds just given out caught behind for 3. Young Mitch Cammarano is the new batsman with the Warriors 6/107 from 33 overs.
12:20 – 7/132 off 40 overs with Elston just run out for 61. Cammarano is 12* with Chris Bright the new batsman
12:40 – 7/163 off 45 overs. Bright 12* and Cammarano 31* are looking to accelerate the run-rate with five overs left
1:00 – What a brilliant turnaround by the WGCA, who were at one stage 3/14. Bright (30*) helped steer the Warriors to a super competitive 8/193 from their 50 overs.
1:30 – After the first over of their chase, Sunraysia is 0/1. Braid-Ball and Sadler are opening the bowling.
1:40 – After six overs Sunraysia is 0/17.
2:10 – After 11 overs Sunraysia is 1/36. Nick Sadler with the first wicket courtesy of a ripping catch at wide mid-on from Tyler Clark.
2:30 – After 16 overs Sunraysia is 2/45 courtesy of a runout from Rob Elston.
2:50 – Two wickets! The first clean-bowled by Tyrrell, the second well caught by Clark at mid-on off Sadler. 4/51 after 20 overs. Sadler finishes his 10 overs with 2/22.
3:10 – Drinks after 25 overs. Sunraysia is 5/58 after a Tom Hussey stumping off Mark Cooper.
3:20 – 7/71 off 27 overs – two more wickets to Cooper, who has 3/6 off 4. Tyrrell finishes with 1/25 off his 10.

4:00 – An impressive final wicket stand after a good catch on the long-on fence by McDermott. Sunraysia 9/140 after 39. Cooper finishes with 10 overs, 4/20.

4:15 – WGCA WINS! Sunraysia dismissed for 166 after McDermott takes another ripper catch right on the long-on boundary off Paynter to remove potential match-winner Stanbrook for 64. WEST GIPPSLAND IS NOW ASSURED OF A SPOT IN DIVISION 2 NEXT YEAR and plays tomorrow for a spot in the final
