The Cardinia Tigers officially launched their 2018 Reclink Football team on Wednesday last week.
With a sausage sizzle on the sidelines, the Tigers held a team launch day and training session at Heatherbrae Recreation Reserve in Officer. In what was a fantastic day for all, it was a great opportunity for people of all walks of life to come together with the common love of football.
The Cardinia Shire Council has partnered with Windana Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Reclink Australia to field what will be Cardinia’s first team to compete in the Reclink league.
The Cardinia Tigers have created a fun, safe, and inclusive space for community members to participate in an all-inclusive AFL game, helping community members to develop friendships, get active and provide access to a wide range of support services.
The season runs alongside the regular AFL season with training and matches on alternating Wednesdays. It’s free to play, with anyone welcome to join in the fun. All equipment will be provided for participants.
There’s still the opportunity to get involved with the Tigers – be it as a player or volunteer helper.
For more information, or to get involved with sponsoring the team, contact Richard Price at Windana on (03) 5942 3208 or 0414 269 815.
