There is a sense that something new and very exciting is building at Nyora Football Netball Club.
With women’s football continuing to grow at a blistering pace, Nyora is the latest club to get on board.
With strong pre-season numbers, the Saints are shaping up as a team to watch in the newly formed football league. The league, featuring six local teams; Bass Coast, Warragul, Bunyip, Nar Nar Goon, Garfield and the Saints, will see women’s football reach new heights in the local area.
Nyora Coach Brett Kelly is thrilled with the pre-season thus far and with the season kicking off in April, there is still time for new players to join the Saints for their inaugural 2018 season.
“We’ve had good numbers over the pre-season.” Kelly said. “The improvement of the group since we first started to now has been really good.”
Kelly also spoke about the support of the women’s team from everyone within the club.
“The whole club has been great. Everyone has been on board since we first talked about getting a women’s team up and running last year.” Kelly said.
With this kind of support and an environment that is all about having a good time and improving your skills, the Saints are a team that will welcome all level of players. Whether you’ve played football before or never laced up the boots, the Saints are the team for you.
Games will be played on Sundays from April to August.
