The 2017/18 District Team of the Year is full of perhaps the most exciting talent in a number of years, with many players enjoying stunning individual campaigns.
Devon Meadows’ dominance throughout the season saw a staggering five players selected in the team, with Ash Adams named captain and Kyle Salerno named keeper after both once again taking the competition by storm.
The side is well balanced, and possesses some youth and experience, and there are eight new faces in the team, with only Ammar Bajwa, Brad Miles and Matt Hutchinson selected from last year, highlighting the growth and development of many players in District.
And how about the season of Jason Hameeteman, who has made runs at an alarming rate for the Vikings, including two centuries. The Panthers will need to remove him early in the grand final on the weekend based on his recent run of form.

In the 2017/18 Sub-District Team of the Year, there are some outstanding players that have made the side after standing out for their side, with only three earning their spot in consecutive years. Gembrook skipper Geordie Scott is named captain of the side due to what has been a sublime year, and almost leading the Brookers to a shock finals appearance certainly deserves some reward. And check out the numbers on his brother Ryan, who played just nine matches but managed to still score almost 600 runs. Aura Vale’s Nathan Phillips was also one of the stories of the season, and has risen into one of the top all-rounders in Subbies after a sublime year that also featured a double century.
