Cardinia’s own Imperial Dance Crew has been crowned 8th best in the world at the World Dance Championships.

Taking place in Orlando, Florida, the Haileybury Alumni smashed the Open Hip Hop section with their routine by Melissa Katherine, who managed to coach and choreograph the team while working full time and being a mum.

The talented dancers came out in the top ten against 512 crews from 32 different countries on Tuesday 1 May.

More than 40,000 athletes representing the most elite senior and international divisions made their way to take the Worlds stage to vie for world championship titles.

Representing the Old Haileybury Association, the all-female dance crew are three-time Australian Champions and came second place at the All Star Cheer and Dance Competitions last year.

The girls are now celebrating their hard-earned success together in the United States, and have ticked off Disneyland in California, Havana and New York so far.
