Hunt for brazen Berwick thieves

By Kyra Gillespie

A search is underway for two brazen thieves who stole numerous items at a florist in Berwick last month.

It is believed a man and woman entered the flower shop on Adams Lane about 8.30am on 24 May and pinched blankets, gloves, a handbag and a diffuser, placing them in their bags and under their jackets while staff were distracted.

The duo went in and out of the store several times, each time taking more stock and placing it inside what is believed to be a stolen vehicle parked out the front of the shop.

The white Holden Cruze had Victorian registration 1CO-1YZ.

The male, believed to be aged in his mid-20s, is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance and approximately 180cm tall with a thin build.

He had a large earlobe spacer in his left ear and was wearing a black baseball cap and a red jacket over a red jumper.

The woman was perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 170com tall with blond hair and glasses.

She was wearing a black ‘Hurley’ brand singlet with black tracksuit pants and thongs.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the pair.

Anyone who recognises the man or vehicle described is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
